Research unit on the Economics of Excisable Products

The Research unit on the Economics of Excisable Products (REEP) at the University of Cape Town undertakes research on alcohol, unhealthy food and tobacco policies to help limit their consumption and prevent non-communicable diseases. Among others, REEP manages the Data on Aliments, Tobacco and Alcohol (DATA) in Africa Project which collects, archives and disseminate economic data on alcohol, unhealthy food and tobacco to assist research to support policies on these excisable products.
